Anna Maria's Butterfly Garden Meets Modern Opulence

It is an honor to be asked to be a part of a Blog Hop showcasing a beautiful, new fabric collection for Island Batik!  Deb Tucker and her excellent team at Studio 180 Design came up with an outstanding collection of stunning fabrics with vibrant colors ranging from lovely oranges to luscious caramels and anything in between!

My name is Raija Salomaa, I'm the owner and the creative mind behind Quilters' Treasure Chest.  I have been a Certified Instructor for Studio 180 Design now for 7 years.  I love designing, teaching, giving lectures at guilds, and cruising while teaching!  My go-to Studio 180 Design tool is the V Block tool.  Many of my patterns use this tool as it creates a fun unit that always adds something wonderful to the quilt design.

The theme for this blog hop was table runners.  That suited me well as I have been super busy lately and wouldn't have been able to participate if I had needed to create a regular-size quilt.  So, with that in mind (and after getting a reminder email from Studio 180 as I had been on a cruise when I got this invitation, and then totally forgot all about it) I decided to use the same design concept on the table runner as my lovely Gives Me Butterflies pattern uses.

I really enjoy playing with the units, making them in a circular arrangement, before sewing the units to make the quilt top.  Depending on how you arrange them will give you different looks.  But with the V Block unit, I like to arrange them so I can see both of the colors well, just like they are shown in these arrangements.

Besides making these fun V block units using various fabric combinations, you only need some background fabric squares and rectangles to make this table runner come to life!

This is a fantastic time to make this table runner. The fabrics have just arrived at the stores (by the way, SKUs used to make this are as follow: 612202096 (Background),612206282, 612206230, and 612205266). There is also a special price for the rest of January to get this pattern (it is currently offered at half off its regular price)!  If you have never used a V Block tool, this would make a fantastic pattern to get your feet wet and learn to use it!

Tomorrow will mark the last day of the blog hop, so make sure to drop by and visit all the blogs that are participating in this blog hop.  Here is the schedule for the blog hop and the links for you to find them:
